Welcome to The Orchard Tavern

Since 1903

My name is Kristopher Monforte, and I am the 5th owner of The Orchard Tavern. The Orchard Tavern is home to the oldest pub in Albany, NY. Born in 1903, the tavern has brought about 116 years of service. We are going carry over and build on that tradition here at Orchard Tavern West, located in Guilderland, NY.

The original location thrived from local businesses that supported the world famous New York Central Rail Yard. One of the many famous local businesses was the Tobin Meat Packing Plant, which had the third largest cattle yard in the United States. These local businesses employed thousands of men, who raised and supported their families in the West end of Albany.

With the onset of the Great Depression, World Wars, and the economic struggles that Albany has endured, the New York Central Rail Yard, and Tobin Meat packing Plant have disappeared, with nothing but lasting memories to remain. Nevertheless, The Orchard Tavern has continued to thrive for many decades due to the loyalty of the community, and more importantly the friendships that have been built around the Orchards great pizza.

The history and the tradition of The Orchard Tavern are two duties that my family and staff are honored and dedicated to continue. As we turn to our new location, Orchard Tavern West, we promise to work diligently to continue this tradition. Each time you visit, we will assure you a welcoming atmosphere, great food, drinks, and world class customer service. We know you have many places to choose from, and we thank you for choosing the Orchard Tavern. We look forward to providing a century’s worth of joy, happiness, and satisfaction to our community. On behalf of my wife Katelyn, Father Mike and Brother Kevin, Thank you, and Welcome to the Orchard Tavern West.
